Dr. Jamilliah Longino

Dr. Jamilliah Longino is a distinguished Educational Leadership Consultant renowned for her expertise in school improvement and turnaround strategies. Her impressive career trajectory showcases her unwavering commitment to enhancing educational outcomes at various levels of the educational system.

Before embarking on a consulting career, Dr. Longino played pivotal roles in educational reform, leading significant turnaround efforts that spanned from state to school levels, all marked by notable improvements in student outcomes. Her profound impact was particularly evident during her tenure as the Executive Director of the Office of School Improvement at the Mississippi Department of Education. In this capacity, she spearheaded the state’s turnaround initiatives, setting benchmarks for educational excellence and demonstrating her leadership and strategic acumen.

Dr. Longino’s contributions to education extend to academia, where she served as a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership and the Coordinator for the Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership Program. This role saw her nurturing the next generation of K-12 educational leaders, imparting wisdom, and practical skills through courses on Instructional Supervision, Effective Leadership, Curriculum Planning & School Improvement, Political Dimensions of Leadership, Comparative Philosophies of Education, and School Finance.

Her journey in education began in the classroom, where she achieved National Board Certification, a testament to her dedication and skill as an educator. This early experience laid the foundation for her comprehensive understanding of the educational landscape, informing her strategies for systemic improvement and leadership.
